Premiere Cup Champions

Genesis F.C. are the Premier Cup Champions of 2008
Genesis F.C. 2 – 1 Radmoor F.C.
Hosted by Shepshed Dynamo F.C.
We started brightly and a ball from Papa in to the "danger zone" allowed Marco to head over the keeper to go 1-0 up after 10mins.
10mins later I went for the ball and ended up getting a bit of the man and gave away a penalty!! 1-1
In the second half, both teams were feeling the effects of the big pitch with people going down with Cramp every few minutes, the most amusing of which was Meadwell who rather than going down, admirable tried to keep up with an attacker who was going round him, Dave Radcliff described it well when he said it looked like meadwell was running with SKI Boots on.
With 3 mins to go and Genesis not particularly looking forward to the prospect of extra time, a nice ball from Tyler put Gary through who struck it beautifully, it went passed the keeper and hit the bar came down onto the line and time stopped as we waited to see if it was going to cross the line or not, fortunately it went over the line. 2-1 fans and players went crazy, unfortunately Papa who was knackered struggled to get to the celebrations before they dispersed!
What a result.
This is the first Cup Genesis has ever one. I'm still buzzing. It's a bit of history for the club and reflects the hard work and team spirit of the club.
Well done to everyone who played, a great team effort. And well done to Meadwell the Gaffa, a deserved prize for his hard work and effort over the season.
I'm sure they'll be a few photo's (Radcliff took 260 photo's on his own!! )and video clips emerging over the next few days which we'll get on the website.
